11 Count Cross Stitch Size Chart

Choose 11ct Aida when you want a more widely spaced stitching grid and can accommodate a larger finished picture. Each full cross occupies one of eleven nominal intervals per inch. A chart keeps exactly the same stitch coordinates on this cloth; its physical footprint grows. Check that footprint before choosing fabric, a display location or a working frame.

11ct Aida gives 11 full crosses per inch: 11 ÷ 1 = 11. Use this chart for stitched inches and centimeters across 24 pattern sizes, with a separate, explicit 3-inch cutting margin per side.

Count describes nominal fabric spacing. Stitching over one on 11ct Aida gives 11 crosses per inch. Measure your own cloth in both directions before cutting.

Measurements use nominal count, then convert unrounded inches with 1 in = 2.54 cm. Display rounds half-up to two decimal places. Every cut on this page adds only 3 in per side: visible border 0 + finishing allowance 3. The main calculator normally starts with a separate 1.5 in border plus 3 in finishing; the links here explicitly select this table’s 0 + 3 example. Actual cloth, clamps, seams, mats and mounting may need different allowances.

Start with the available wall or shelf space

A large stitch grid can turn a compact chart into a substantial panel. Read the stitched rectangle first, then add the space you want to see around it. The cutting column uses a separate three-inch allowance at every edge; it does not describe the finished opening of a frame.

For a long project, decide whether you will move a small working hoop across the design. Enclosing the entire picture at once is optional. Measure the cloth that your actual clamps or hoop need before selecting a cut.

Two decisions for this project

A 50 × 50 teaching motif

With 50 stitches in each direction, the stitched square is 4.55 × 4.55 in (11.55 × 11.55 cm). The table’s allowance gives 10.55 × 10.55 in (26.79 × 26.79 cm) of cloth. This makes a useful small-format planning example: the chart box and the fabric square are different measurements.

A 300 × 400 display panel

The same grid produces a 27.27 × 36.36 in (69.27 × 92.36 cm) picture. Its nominal cut becomes 33.27 × 42.36 in (84.51 × 107.60 cm). Check the intended display position before ordering; the larger dimension may govern both the fabric purchase and how you support the work.

The listed frame or hoop opening is a separate decision from the fabric you cut. Check a measured opening, or compare Aida with over-two linen. For 200 × 200, follow the existing 200x200 comparison.

Questions about this size chart

Will an 11ct grid remove detail from my chart?

It preserves the chart’s stitch layout and color positions. Those stitches occupy more physical space; the chart itself has not gained or lost stitches.

Can I use a small hoop for an oversized 11ct panel?

Yes, if you plan to reposition it. Compare its measured working area with the section you want to stitch, and allow enough cloth to hold it securely.

Does coarse-count Aida automatically need a particular strand count?

Choose strands with a sample of your actual thread and cloth. Desired coverage, thread thickness and handling matter; fabric count alone is not a purchasing specification.

Is the chart’s 11ct cutting size an order size?

It is a nominal calculation. Seller cuts vary, so compare both measured sides of the offered piece and round your requirement upward when buying.
