25 Count Cross Stitch Size Chart

For the over-two setup on this page, 25ct evenweave gives 12.5 full crosses per inch. Keep that half count: rounding it to twelve or thirteen would change every dimension. The label describes twenty-five fabric intervals in an inch, while each cross spans two. Confirm that your pattern intends over-two stitching before using the cutting table.

25ct evenweave over 2 gives 12.5 full crosses per inch: 25 ÷ 2 = 12.5. Use this chart for stitched inches and centimeters across 24 pattern sizes, with a separate, explicit 3-inch cutting margin per side.

Count describes nominal fabric spacing. Stitching over two on 25ct uses two fabric intervals for each cross; entering 25 as the stitch density would make the design appear half its actual size. Measure your own cloth in both directions before cutting.

Measurements use nominal count, then convert unrounded inches with 1 in = 2.54 cm. Display rounds half-up to two decimal places. Every cut on this page adds only 3 in per side: visible border 0 + finishing allowance 3. The main calculator normally starts with a separate 1.5 in border plus 3 in finishing; the links here explicitly select this table’s 0 + 3 example. Actual cloth, clamps, seams, mats and mounting may need different allowances.

Check the stitching instruction before choosing cloth

A fabric label alone cannot identify a chart’s effective stitch density. Over one and over two use the same nominal cloth but produce very different footprints. Record both settings beside the pattern dimensions so the intended result survives a calculator handoff.

Do not substitute a nearby Aida count merely because its whole number looks easier to use. Compare the actual rectangle instead. For a counted-thread chart with mixed over-one details and over-two areas, establish the layout’s coordinate system before measuring its outer boundary.

Two decisions for this project

An 80 × 100 ornament front

Over two, this design is 6.40 × 8.00 in (16.26 × 20.32 cm). The stated allowance produces 12.40 × 14.00 in (31.50 × 35.56 cm) of cloth. Plan the ornament’s final seam and shape separately; the rectangular cut is only a starting geometry.

A 200 × 300 sampler: verify the over setting

At over two, the sampler measures 16.00 × 24.00 in (40.64 × 60.96 cm), with a 22.00 × 30.00 in (55.88 × 76.20 cm) example cut. Over one on nominal 25ct, the same stitch box would be 8.00 × 12.00 in (20.32 × 30.48 cm). These are different stitching plans, so check the chart rather than selecting whichever result fits your fabric.

24 pattern sizes on 25ct evenweave over 2

The interval column counts the fabric grid spanned by each design: multiply chart width and height by two. It is a different quantity from full crosses. Use those spans when checking an over-two layout against the threads in your actual cloth.

The listed frame or hoop opening is a separate decision from the fabric you cut. Check a measured opening, or compare Aida with over-two linen. For 200 × 200, follow the existing 200x200 comparison.

Questions about this size chart

Why is the 25ct over-two table based on 12.5 stitches per inch?

Each cross spans two fabric intervals. Dividing the nominal count by that span preserves the fractional effective density needed for the geometry.

Can I use this 25ct chart for an over-one project?

Use an explicit over-one calculation instead. The table is intentionally fixed to over two, and its dimensions would be too large for the same stitch box worked over one.

Is 25ct over two interchangeable with 14ct Aida for sizing?

Their effective densities differ. Calculate the proposed chart on each fabric before deciding whether either size suits your display and available cloth.

How should I enter a pattern with tiny over-one details?

Follow the chart’s coordinate convention for its full bounding box. Do not add detail stitches to width or height unless they actually extend the design boundary.
